Spawning: |
Spawns when water temps reach 82 to 91 degrees. Females lay up to
3000 egs in a raised nest. Both the male and female will guard the
eggs and young. |

Prey: |
Feed mostly on small fish, insects, and amphibians. |

Fishing notes: |
Live baits such as cut fish, shrimp, and worms work well. Small
spinnerbaits work well also. |
