Has four barbels on the lower jaw and is relatively small.
Location:
Bays and harbors south of Virginia and along the Gulf coast. Winter
time they seek deeper water.

Up to about 1ft
Spawning:
Males carry fertilized eggs in their mouths for about 2 months. They
go without food during this period and for a while afterwards as the
young tend to stay in this unusual nest.

The best baits are live or cut fish and shrimp. Most are bottom
feeders so use heavy sinkers.
